Bought the kit and did the mold, but my mold is still tacky in some spots. we tinted the first layer with the red pigment and the spots around the edges of my face and chin are still tacky and sticky....i'm wondering if it was the petroleum jelly that is preventing it from setting? also i'm wondering if it will effect my face cast if i poor it in while it is still sticky if it doesn't set?? help please Stephanie

Can you do this same process using alginate with good results? Every video ive watched so far involving alginate they just tear the mould to get to the cast material. Is it possible to get equal life from alginate as from gel-10? Sorryi'm new looking to learn and get involved in life casting. Your videos are great btw. Keep it up!

The plaster bandages create a rigid shell to support the flexible mold. Without the shell the mold would be difficult to cast without getting major distortions.

@MikroBadass Yes indeed. Look up our Gel-10 head cast video.

It's been my experience that plaster of paris will shrink once it starts to dry out. Is that a problem when you have the silicone casting inside it?
Brick In The Yard Mold Supply
@ericvid Yes. The only difference is that PolyFiber will stiffen Gel-10 so you may need to make the mold a little thicker than we did here to help it hold its shape.

What are the plaster bandages for? Can't you just skip that part and then remove the mask when its dry?

How do you make a positive from the cast? So I can make prosthetics that fit my face
